Welcome to Gemma & Danny’s — Civic Hall Leeds Wedding Gallery

Their day was a beautifully sunny September wedding ceremony at the Civic Hall in Leeds city centre — and the sky was something else. A deep, endless blue that I’ve never quite seen at a wedding before! Gemma and Danny were blessed with the weather and surrounded by their nearest and dearest. This was the official part of their wedding weekend — captured with my signature documentary style, full of natural moments, laughter, and real colour.

An Intimate Wedding Ceremony at the Civic Hall
Just close family and dearest friends joined Gemma and Danny for this intimate Leeds wedding ceremony — with a bigger celebration planned Saturday later at the Lost & Found Leeds Club.
The Civic Hall ceremony was simple, emotional, and full of love. From the bride’s relieved "phew" as she reached her groom, to their natural glances and proud smiles — it was clear this day wasn’t about performance. Just two people being themselves, joined by the people that mattered most.
I always arrive with no set ideas, letting the day unfold as it should. But I do love to meet my couples beforehand — it helps me see the moments that truly matter. One of the most touching was the groom’s young son, full of emotion. After the vows, he gave his dad a hug as they left the ceremony room — with Gemma smiling on. A real Leeds wedding memory, captured naturally.

Golden Sunshine and Authentic Wedding Photography in Leeds
The sun stayed high in the sky all day — they couldn’t have asked for more. I never hide my couples from the sunshine. It adds so much life and truth to the photos — and it suited Gemma perfectly. Her sunflower bouquet felt like a premonition of the glowing September day ahead.
Their first portraits were taken right there on the Civic Hall steps, with four trees lining the shot and the Leeds Town Hall peeking through in the background. Colours were vibrant and natural — no filters, no editing. Just how it felt to be there.
One special photo shows them leaning over a piano set into the ground, part of the Leeds Piano Festival. Head to head, smiling in the sunshine — a perfect moment of joy and warmth in the heart of Leeds.

Candid Storytelling Around Leeds Civic Hall and Beyond
Following the ceremony, Gemma and Danny had planned a quick drink at the small bar on the edge of the square — but time had run away. I gently suggested they stick to the plan. They did, and I’m so glad — the few photos I took there radiate happiness. One of them even became the cover of their wedding storybook album.
We shared a quick drink (Diet Coke for me!), and then we jumped in a taxi together. We were dropped close to the Lost & Found Leeds Club, and as we walked round to the front, I caught a lovely, spontaneous moment — Gemma greeting Danny’s sister and her husband, smiling with the most radiant joy.
These are the moments that matter — real, unposed and unforgettable.

Afternoon Moments and a Perfect Finish at the Lost & Found Leeds Club
Inside, champagne was flowing and I captured a series of personality-filled group photos — nothing forced, just everyone being themselves. I quickly headed upstairs to photograph the reception room in all its elegant detail before guests filled the space.
A little later, I photographed a lovely family group on the edge of the entrance steps — the light was perfect, warm and soft. Then, as everyone made their way upstairs, I took the chance for an impromptu group photo on the grand staircase. No distortion, no fuss — just a perfectly timed moment with the right lens and an experienced eye.
I stayed for a few relaxed final moments, documenting everyone seated, chatting, and soaking in the day. My last frame was a quiet one — their son, resting his head on the table, tired and content. A perfect end to a truly beautiful wedding story.
